I just arrived :-)
Passing by car SF sure looks like an interesting city, just like in the movies with some very steep roads.
Now to find a piece of beach so I can spend my last week here relaxing in the sun working on my tan and then head back to Holland.
Yesterday I was visiting the famous park with the worlds biggest trees… Sequoia park, and I bought a small little souvenir Sequoia tree. In the park I noticed a lot of signs warning the visitors for the local bears.
When I saw the first sign I was wondering what my chances of survival were would I encounter a bear. I estimated my change of survival to be maybe 50%. That estimation was of course based on my vast lack of knowledge on the subject. Today I found out. Today I was walking around Yosemite park and there was a bear walking around. It was even worst, there was a bear walking around with her young. The most dangerous situation you can encounter.
But both bears were so incredibly small. You must be a real dumbo for a small bear like that you take you to the next level in life. This bear was harmless and she was only trying to get access to the trash containers. The bear failed in opening any trash and decided to go elsewhere.
Yesterday was a special movie night in the hostel and I was again surprised. For a movie night in Hollywood you would expect the very best of movies… but no, Godsend, Talking Lies and some other bad cross dress movie with David Duchovnie. All three movies were crap, even though I drank large amounts of alcohol before watching.
Tomorrow I will leave this place and I will probably head over to San Fransisco. In San Fransisco I will try and relax a little. Spend some time at the beach and maybe take a surfing course. Maybe I’ll find some other thing I can do. I’ll see.
It is really true!!!
I have not see any police chase in the time I’ve been in America. I’ve been in Hollywood for two hours and while walking through the street (Hollywood Blvr) I encounter one total loss police car, eight police cars standing all over the place, police officers managing traffic, one bad guy car which was black with tinted windows and quite some dents and cops everywhere with guns, sticks and notebooks.
I directly took a few pictures. Most feature the total loss police car and a thing very typical for Hollywood, pretty girls.
I have arrived in Hollywood and it is a pretty cool place! The ambiance is very nice and the temperature not so. Right now I’m planning to try and climb the mountain and visit the famous Hollywood sign. Maybe I can even urinate against the H.
Tomorrow I’ll take off to visit LA. I heard quite a lot of negative stories about LA which makes me think it might be something like Detroit :-r
I’m definitely curious and if I don’t like it there I’ll just continue to the next city. They have a beach, so how bad can it really be.
Yesterday I met a professional lifeguard. This one did resemble the girls you see in the Baywatch series. The only bad thing was that she wasn’t working. It was a Scottish girl that had worked as a lifeguard for 7 weeks but on a different beach. She was now enjoying a little holiday on another beach.
I just visited Mexico, Tijuana. It was a nice tour arranged by some people at the hostel I was staying. There were 21 of us. The first thing I noticed where the number of pharmacies where you could buy your medicines. There were multiple pharmacies in every street. Apparently in Mexico you can get a lot of drugs without recipe and a lot of Americans make use of this.
The rest of Tijuana was one big tourist trap. I didn’t like it so much.
Alien vs. Predator sucks big time!
Today I did a tour over an aircraft carrier that was docked here in the harbor of San Diego. On the aircraft carrier they had constructed a very big stage. After informing about the stage I was told that there would be a concert tonight by the Goo Goo Dolls. Sadly it is for some private party and I was unable to arrange a ticket, but still I think I’ll pass by the docks tonight to see if I can enjoy a little of the concert.
Update: Okay, the Goo Goo Dolls are okay, but the gross of their songs is just regular. They only have one good song and this song is what made them famous. It did sound very good being played on a massive boat.
In the hostel I’m staying at now there is also a Czech girl and she was not impresses by my pronunciation of bollost’. :-(
Now I did learn that in the Czech republic they also have a tolerant approach to some soft drugs. Just like there is a place in Denmark where according to some Danish person you can get all the drugs known to man.
