Rules

  • Core Rule: Some tiles hide toxic mushrooms. Clicking a toxic mushroom ends the game.
  • Goal: Reveal all safe tiles to win.
  • What the Numbers Mean: Safe tiles are empty or show a number. The number tells you how many toxic mushrooms touch that tile (including diagonals).
  • What You Can Do: Tap to reveal, long-press to mark or unmark. Mark a tile if you think it hides a toxic mushroom.
  • Use Logic: Use the numbers to deduce where mushrooms must be.
  • Edibles: Click to collect. Once collected these can be used to peek at a tile to see what is there.

Gameplay
This game is a lighthearted twist on a classic logic puzzle. Your goal is to uncover all the safe fields on the board while avoiding the hidden toxic mushrooms scattered underneath. Every move gives you clues, and with a bit of reasoning you can deduce where danger is hiding.

The First Click: Pure Luck
Your adventure begins with a gamble. The very first field you click is always random — there’s no information yet to guide you. Three things can happen:

  • You uncover an empty area with no mushrooms nearby
  • You reveal a number that gives you your first clue
  • Or, with a bit of bad luck, you hit a toxic mushroom immediately
  • Once that first click is out of the way, the real game begins.

    Numbers Are Clues
Whenever you reveal a number, you’ve gained valuable information. The number tells you exactly how many toxic mushrooms are touching that field. ‘Touching’ includes all eight directions: left, right, up, down, and the four diagonals.

  • A 1 means there is exactly one mushroom in the surrounding eight tiles
  • A 2 means there are exactly two
  • And so on
  • These numbers are the heart of the game. They allow you to deduce which nearby fields are safe and which ones must contain mushrooms.

    Empty Fields: Safe Zones
Sometimes you’ll click a field and see nothing at all, no number, no symbol. That’s great news. It means none of the surrounding tiles contain mushrooms. These empty fields often open up large safe areas automatically, giving you room to explore.

    Marking Toxic Mushrooms
When you’re confident a field contains a mushroom, you can mark it. This prevents you from accidentally clicking it later and helps you keep track of your deductions. Marking isn’t required to win, but it makes the puzzle far easier to manage.

    Using Logic to Progress
The game becomes a series of small logical steps:

  • If a ‘1’ touches only one unrevealed tile, that tile must contain the mushroom
  • If a ‘2’ touches two unrevealed tiles, both must be mushrooms
  • If a number already has the correct number of marked mushrooms around it, the remaining neighbors are safe
  • As you chain these deductions together, the board gradually opens up.

    Occasional Guesses
Most of the time, careful reasoning is enough to solve the puzzle without guessing. But depending on the layout, you may eventually reach a situation where logic alone can’t decide between two possibilities. In those rare cases, you’ll need to take a calculated risk.

    Winning the Game
You win when all safe fields have been revealed. You don’t need to mark every mushroom, the game recognizes victory as soon as every non mushroom tile is uncovered.

    Edible Mushrooms
In some games, you’ll also encounter edible mushrooms. They appear randomly on the board and can be collected simply by clicking them. Each mushroom you gather becomes a helpful tool you can use later: you can spend one to make any field on the board partially transparent. This gives you a subtle hint of what lies underneath, not enough to fully reveal it, but just enough to guide your reasoning in tricky situations. These tools are limited, so using them wisely can make the difference between a confident move and a risky guess.
