Cruz Roja!The Spanish red cross asked me to create a virtual tour through their offices. They would use this tour to add something visual when explaining the activities of the red cross and to add an impression of how the offices are set up and to make clear what is the scale of the activities and the size of the offices and storage that the red cross has available.

Enjoying a nice cup of coffee they explained in detail how the center was run and that this specific office is one of the four most important distribution centers worldwide.

Ik heb mijn mede vrijwillers uitgelegd dat ik nog nooit een dergelijke 3d presentatie gemaakt heb, maar dat ik het best wil proberen. Net als de flash applicatie die ik in het verleden gemaakt heb is het een leuke methode om weer iets wijzer te worden.

Voor de 3d presentatie heb ik twee gratis software pakketen en een website gevonden die ik ga onderzoeken.

  • SketchUp, niet moeilijk, je kan vlot een huis neerzetten, maar het aankleden ervan lijkt erg veel werk te zijn. Verder is het niet zo moeilijk om in 3d door het huis te bewegen. Iets verder onderzoeken maar.
  • Blender, erg ingewikkeld, hier begin ik niet aan.
  • Floorplanner, niet echt 3d, en je kan niet door je gebouw ‘bewegen’, maar het ziet er leuk en overzichterlijk uit.

    • Als iemand nog tips heeft verneem ik die graag! Binnenkort het resultaat.

    We have finally received the pictures made by the photographers. Ana was not really satisfied, but the pictures are not so bad. We now have around 5000 pictures and a pre-selection made by the photographer of around 600 pictures. From these 600 I can select the best and maybe tweak them a little with my gimp or with paintshop.

    Our friends and family also send large amounts of pictures, videos and derived products. For this we thank you all!

    After selecting the best of the best we’ll probably print a few albums for ourselves and for our parents. For sure you will be able to find a selection online soon, and we’ll send some of the pictures for the people who helped make this day so special for us. Rest assured, if you decide to visit us any time soon we will for sure bother you with our pictures and invite you to an emotional roller coaster ride past all the memorable events of our wedding day.

    Volendam modified!The blue bird travel agency corrected their mistake quickly. They were using a picture from my website and had hot linked it directly from their website. This meant that for every person viewing their site my website had to send the picture over. This resulted in a lot of traffic where in this month the same picture was send over more then 3000 times.

    The solution was easy. First copy the image and then put it on your own website. This way it does not bother me and in 99.9% of the cases I would have never found out. The only risk with using someone else his picture is running into a number of laws. In this case I don’t mind they use my picture. After sending them an email they quickly came up with the solution and that’s the end of it.

    The blue bird!Finally my 5 minutes of fame have arrived… or have they? A Belgium travel agency is offering a new vacation plan. From Belgium to Holland and the return trip on a boat a nice cruise ship.

    For sure it will be a nice trip, but what did I notice, for this trip the travel agency has been searching for images online, and one of the images they found is with me! In Volendam! In a typical old Volendam costume! With Cheese, Tulips and an accordion! With some Czech people! This way a typical Dutch trip gets a nice international ring to it.

    Mijn marathon tijd was 48:42 voor de 10km. Op zich geen slechte tijd, maar bij nader inzien toch geen persoonlijk record. Volgend jaar iets sneller proberen te zijn. Volgens mij is een tijd onder de 45 minuten een goed doel om na te streven.

    Pagagnini!This Sunday I’ll take in some culture. After my running session we’ll visit the theater and see a show by Pagagnini. A group of musicians that combine music with some kind of show, or at least this is what I think it will be.

    Classic music combined with dance, theater and humor. An attractive combination.

    It will also be my first visit to the Alfredo Kraus auditorium, so I’m looking forward to it!

    Las Palmas Marathon (10km)

    Ik heb me wederom ingeschreven om een gezonde 10 hard te lopen tijdens de Las Palmas Marathon. Dit keer hoop ik alle stappen goed te doorlopen. Twee jaar geleden was ik te laat met de inschrijving, en deed ik voor spek en bonen mee. Vorig jaar had ik wel betaald, maar was in niet goed op de hoogte van de vreemde constructie voor het ophalen van het nummer dus liep ik weer voor spek en bonen mee.

    Dit jaar heb ik betaald, en heb ik in mijn agenda genoteerd dat ik een dag voor de race mijn nummer persoonlijk moet ophalen. Nu kijken of ik na drie jaar een beetje goede tijd kan neerzetten, theoretisch zou ik de 10km in een tijd rond de 50 minuten moeten kunnen lopen. Onder het uur moet me absoluut lukken.

    I am continuing with my Android game, and right now I have the main interface more or less ready. This means you can start and stop the app, start the game, modify the settings and view the high scores. What is missing is the actual game itself, the content of all the screens, and the method of uploading your personal high score to a website. Still a lot of work that needs to be done.

    Dog!Here is another small part of the game. This girl is a little less important then the dog, but she also plays an important role in the game. If you are getting curious return in a month to find out more!

    Wikileaks – Het Vaticaan

    Wikileaks!Wikileaks is een van de meest interessante nieuws sites van de laatste tijd. Helaas zijn een aantal artikelen flink out of date, maar leuk om te lezen is het zeker. Recent zijn er een aantal ‘cables’ verschenen met verslagen over het vaticaan en de paus. Natuurlijk valt hier van alles te lezen wat iedereen al weet, zo blijkt dat het vaticaan heel veel invloed heeft over de wereld en dat ze actief bezig zijn deze invloed uit te breiden in Zuid America en Azie. Valt allemaal te verwachten, maar het meest vreemde van deze berichten is een grote omissie.

    Zo wordt er bijna niet gerept over dalende hoeveelheid actieve katholieken en de stijgende hoeveelheid anders gelovende in Europa. Dit zou toch een uiterst verontrustende trend moeten zijn voor het Vaticaan, want Europa is van oudsher hun thuishaven. Het is een interesant tema waar ik me dit jaar wat verder in wil gaan verdiepen.
