Thanks to Walmart for burning all those pictures to CD, irfanview for resizing everything for the web and textpad for helping me make all the HTML pages.
Nog steeds zit ik thuis met een enorme lading gratis-ski-of-board-krasloten, en het is zowaar lastig om mensen te vinden die mee willen en kunnen ski-/boarden, en die dat dan ook nog dit jaar kunnen realiseren. Maar mijn intuïtie zei me dat Spaanse dames over het algemeen een lossere kalender bijhouden, dus heb ik via via gepoogd het email adres van Maria te achterhalen…
Helaas tevergeefs… Ana, de Spaanse huurster van mijn huis kende Maria ook slechts van het 2 oktober feest en was niet in het bezit van enige methode om contact op te nemen… Maar toen kwam het! Het alternatief. Ana kende ook nog zo’n 20 andere Spaanse dames uit A’dam, of ik daar misschien interesse in had :-D
Hoera!
Helaas, het is weer voorbij.
2 okt: Feest, veel regen, veel bier, een noseshot :-p (= geen drugs), een paar stackers, geen Leidse piet, geen gele fiets meer
3 okt: Gaap, filmpje, nog een filmpje, en nog een filmpje, bier!
4 okt: Gaap, bier!, loges die in twee dagen al mijn voedsel hebben opgegeten ;-)
Het was leuk!

Pas later keek ik naar de kaft van een van de tijdschriften, de Viva…

Leiden was liberated from an occupation by the Spaniards on the 3rd of October in 1574. After seeing the Spaniards flee away the people from Leiden regained their courage, looted the empty campgrounds and found a big pot of food! This food is still traditionally prepared every year around the 3rd of October to celebrate the freedom we gained when the Spaniards left with their tails between their legs!
Preparing it the easy way, for two persons.
Ingredients:
· 300 gram potatoes
· 250 gram carrots
· 250 gram onions
· little bit of butter
· 1/4 a cup of milk
· salt & pepper
· smoked sausage
Preparation:
Clean the potatoes, unions and carrots. Cut the potatoes, unions and carrots into small pieces, and put them in a pan with a little bit of water. Cook the chopped potatoes, unions and carrots for about 20 minutes.
Poor the water out of the pan, and smash everything up, and mix it real good. While mixing add a little bit of butter and the milk, some salt and some pepper.
Put it on a plate and add the smoked sausage (which needs to be heated in advance). Note, the sausage is the biggest contribution in flavor, so get a tasty one :-p.

Last Sunday I went to Nijmegen to run a preparation round of about 13 kilometers. This was my preparation for the 7 hill run. While I was running I noticed that there were a lot of fields with corn growing right next to the public roads. There was nothing blocking access to the corn. I could not restrain myself and I did a bad thing. Right before finishing our practice run I stole a corncob.
Yesterday evening I planned to eat by stolen corncob, but after cooking it for over 2 hours in boiling water I realized I had made a mistake. I now know I will never again steal any corn. Even with a lot of salt added the corn was not fit for consumption. I did not have any butter at home, which maybe would have helped, or maybe the corn needed to cook for three hours instead of only two, but the result remained uneatable. Next time I will stick to canned corn.
Afgelopen weekend voor het allereerst in de boerderij (in Zoetermeer! echt waar!) geweest. Ik had in een ver verleden al verhalen gehoord dat er sporadisch met barkrukken gesmeten werd en zo, en dat beeld bleek aardig te kloppen. Gelukkig heb ik geen vliegend meubilair gezien, maar er werd wel flink ge-pogo-t voor het podiumpje, waarbij menig ladderzatte aap (aap als in een persoon met meer spieren dan hersenen) op de met glas bezaaide grond viel.
Uiteraard na afloop nog even het kleine specialistische winkeltje bezocht dat zich naast het feestgebeuren bevond. Ben benieuwd wat Cesar met die vette joint heeft uitgevoerd ;-)
Jawel, ik voel me (noch immer) als in de titel beschreven :-) Het is lastig om wat uit te voeren in die staat, zeker als het echt zaken betreft die toekomstige inspanning vereisen. Ter opvulling van mijn blijdschap ben ik eindelijk begonnen een paar fototjes te verkleinen… Eenvoudig werk, en goed te combineren met de vette trance die door mijn huis galmt. Een foto vind ik zelf bijzonder stoer, dus die plaatst ik ook hier…
Vanavond lekker een uurtje skieen! (gratis! met dank aan mijn moeder die nu met pa in de turkse zon zit te bakken) Ik hoop alleen dat ik door het onrealistische hoge vertrouwen in mijzelf niet een poot breek.. Aan de andere kant.. “You’ve got to do it all!”
