Today we celebrate a life achievement. We’re married for 15 years! Ups and downs, that’s (still) the best way to describe it. After fifteen years, we know what we have in each other, and that doesn’t always meet expectations. Fifteen years ago, we started a shared adventure, and by now it sometimes feels like we’re on a rollercoaster you can’t get off halfway through. Busy with work, busy with family. Kids we have to keep in check, and who gladly create even more work. Sometimes it feels like I get maybe half an hour a day to myself, and that’s not much.

When the kids go to bed, I usually follow soon after, falling asleep the moment I close my eyes. Is it all worth it? When I look at my kids when they’re happy, or working together, then it’s without a doubt worth it. But when I look at everything else, I’m not so sure. It’s not easy.
